Thomas McLaren, MS
Former MS Student
After graduating from the Ecology program at Montana State University, Tommy moved to Arizona to work on a variety of wildlife research and resource conservation projects. He has worked as a biological technician at a variety of National Parks performing wildlife and vegetation management duties as well as providing science outreach to local students. After relocating to Grand Teton National Park he became involved in the region’s whitebark pine restoration project; helping to collect pollen and protect the cones of trees designated for their resistance to the invasive white pine blister rust disease. He is currently working on a study to assess Clark’s Nutcracker habitat use in relation to varying cone abundance in Yellowstone National Park and the underlying factors that impact detectability.
